China welcomes good progress in relations between Iran, Pakistan

China welcomes the good progress that Iran and Pakistan have made in repairing their ties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on January 23. Wang's remarks came after the foreign ministries of Iran and Pakistan issued a joint statement, announcing that the ambassadors of Pakistan and Iran will return to their respective posts on January 26, and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will visit Pakistan on January 29 at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani.
