Chinese diplomat Liu Jianchao says Asia must not be drawn into conflicts

Asia must not be drawn into conflicts that spill over from other parts of the world, a senior Chinese official has warned. The world now needs connectivity and not decoupling, said Mr Liu Jianchao, Minister of Chinese Communist Party's International department. He also said the South China Sea dispute is being "played up" by external parties for their own purposes. The senior official was speaking at a dialogue in Singapore. Tan Qiuyi with this report.
