Chinese stocks see their ‘biggest rally’ in 16 years

Commsec Market Analyst Laura Besarati says the announcement of significant stimulus measures out of China was the “catalyst” for a rally in the Chinese share market. “After three years of dealing with a very sluggish Chinese economy that just couldn’t recover after the pandemic, just yesterday, we saw Chinese stocks see their biggest rally in 16 years,” Ms Besarati said. “It was up 8.5 per cent on Monday and that’s after lifting almost 16 per cent last week – for the best week since 1998.”
