Chris Kenny calls out Amanda Rishworth's ‘infuriating hypocrisy’

Sky News host Chris Kenny has called out Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth for her “infuriating hypocrisy” after she congratulated herself on the government's commitment to end violence against women and children. Ms Rishworth reaffirmed the government’s commitment to end violence against women and children during parliamentary Question Time on Monday. Mr Kenny said Labor scrapped the cashless debit card despite a report by the University of Adelaide sharing evidence which suggested the cards reduced the consumption of high-alcohol products and rates of alcohol-related violence. “More money, no idea. They always think more spending is the answer, and now that same minister gets all high and mighty and full of self-praise as she promises more spending to protect women and children across the country,” Mr Kenny said. “But the cashless debit card was one practical, working initiative that was already doing that. It was helping women and children, protecting them, and Labor scrapped it. Shameful.”
