Church brings joy and cheer to less fortunate
It was an initiative conceptualised by a women's group of the Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church and aimed at bringing joy and cheer to the homeless and disenfranchised women of the City. Recently the church, based in Fairfield, St. Michael, ventured to Bridgetown with their version of an outdoor Christmas programme, including ministry in song and the distribution of clothes and care packages. The church's Community Services Leader Judy Bourne says the goal of the outreach project was to uplift the less fortunate and those unable to enjoy the usual merriment of the yuletide season. Meanwhile, the church's First Elder explained that his denomination does in fact celebrate Christmas, with a focus on the reason for the season.
