Civil society rejects Uganda's FY 2024/25 budget projections
The civil society group, Center for Budget and Tax Policy, has rejected government projections in the budget for the FY 2024/25. They argue that the figure presented to parliament of 53 trillion shillings, an increase from the approved budget of 52 trillion shillings, is disproportionate to the country's financial capacity, especially considering expenses such as debt servicing, amounting to about 7.6 trillion shillings, among others. They also contend that based on debt repayments and current inflation rates, development funds will decrease, ultimately affecting service delivery. According to the second budget call circular issued in February 2024, Uganda's budget will be increased by 1.14%. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
