Civilian Joint Task Force aids Nigerian military in routing Boko Haram, restoring stability
A local militia helping Nigerian security forces fight the armed group Boko Haram, is expanding its influence and operations. The Civilian Joint Task Force has, for more than a decade, supported the military with intelligence gathering and combat operations. The efforts led to the recovery of most of the areas held by Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeast. Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Maiduguri, Nigeria.
