Climate crisis a major issue for SIDS

The climate crisis remains a burning issues for those in small island developing states. Minister of Labour Colin Jordan is encouraging youth leaders to do their part as those within the Global South champion the cause for climate justice. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day International Youth Leadership Training, promoting South-South cooperation. Minister Jordan says although developing states asked for one trillion dollars at the recently concluded COP29 and were given 300 billion - less than a third of what was asked for - he says we should not give up the fight. He adds the world is not on a sustainable trajectory, and so the Barbados Government has taken note of the injustices and created solutions, including the Bridgetown Initiative. Minister Jordan says the Global South needs to keep the fight up.
