Dans Asie / Singapour

A study finds that close to three in 10 gout patients in Singapore have poor control of the disease. Gout is a painful condition affecting the joints. The study by SingHealth Polyclinics also finds patients were not receiving the right amount of allopurinol, a drug used to treat gout - if they were even prescribed it. Dr Prawira Oka, a SingHealth family physician and the author of a study of over 8,000 gout patients, talks about poorly controlled gout. He discusses how this could be caused by patients not receiving the right doses of allopurinol, concerns over the drug and what demographics are more susceptible to gout.
