Coalition’s nuclear plan could add additional $665 to household bills

The Coalition has rubbished new modelling which shows its nuclear power plan could add more than $600 a year to household bills. “The Coalition says it’s not even close but is still yet to offer a figure of its own for how much the nuclear power plan would cost broadly but also at a household level,” says Sky News political reporter Cameron Reddin. “This new analysis done by an American think tank attempts to put a price for household power bills on how much the Coalition’s plan to build nuclear reactors at seven sites across the country would cost individual households. “The number it has landed on is $665 additional every year – that’s largely to cover the cost of construction.”
