Cocoa plant diseases: Shortages are causing chocolate prices to surge
Your favourite chocolate is soon going to cost you more. That's due to a global shortage of cocoa, a key ingredient for making chocolate. The supply shortfall has been caused by a disease which has devastated plantations in Ivory Coast and Ghana - the two countries producing more than half of the world’s supply.
