Wilford Lamastus is responsible for growing the Geisha coffee bean. It's the most expensive coffee in the world due to its complex flavor and meticulous, high-altitude cultivation process, primarily in Panama. Geisha coffee is high in demand worldwide, especially in China. "In China, tea is something that is common and is very attractive. People consume ... very sophisticated, very high-quality teas ... So they are used to paying high prices for teas and Geisha [coffee] is another drink that is, you can say, similar to tea," Lamastus said. Lamastus sees a growing market particularly among younger Chinese consumers. "Their grandparents probably never drank coffee. Their parents probably drank a little bit of coffee ... They jump from nothing to the best," he said. #features #bigstory #connectedtochina Watch CGTN LIVE on your computer, tablet or mobile https://cgtnamerica.vhx.tv/videos/hd-live-broadcasts Subscribe to CGTN America on YouTube Follow CGTN America: Twitter: @cgtnamerica Facebook: @cgtnamerica Instagram: @cgtnamerica TikTok: @newstoks This material is distributed by MediaLinks TV, LLC on behalf of CCTV.
