COFFEE VALUE CHAIN: Bunyoro kingdom opposes merger of the UCDA

The Omuhikirwa of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Andrew Byakutaga has urged the government to spare Uganda Coffee Development Authority in the planned merger of state agencies. The authority is set to be returned to the mother Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries after the merger is completed. However, Byakutaga says the UCDA should be left to operate independently as a way of effectively promoting the coffee sector.
