Comelec to sue barangay officials in irregular voters transfer

Comelec chair George Garcia in an ambush interview on November 29, 2024 said the poll body will file criminal and administrative cases against barangay officials in relation to the irregular voters transfer as #Halalan2025 nears. Garcia said in October that the Comelec will investigate the reported unusual increase in the number of transfer of votes or registrants applying to become voters in places like Makati, Cagayan de Oro and Nueva Ecija.
