Commercial agricultural licensing - NEMA to enforce compliance on sustainable agriculture

NEMA is set to embark on environmental impact assessment of all unlicensed commercial farming to curb all impacts and threats of environmental degradation. The environmental assessment follows the implication caused by extensive Agriculture development which has accounted to 80% loss of the forest cover The Exercise is to be carried out in accordance with the National Environment management Act of 2019
