Concern over the impacts of Trump's presidency for the region
A University of the West Indies Lecturer on Political Science is concerned about the impact of Donald Trump's second term as US president, on Caribbean societies. Dr. George Brathwaite made the point during CBC TV 8's The People's Business Programme last night. He believes Mr. Trump will double down on his isolationist policies, in support of his promise for mass deportations of illegal immigrants. The panellists also examined what they considered to be weaknesses in the Kamala Harris campaign. Dr. Brathwaite suggests the democratic candidate failed to separate herself from the current Joe Biden administration. Meanwhile, Media Personality in Antigua and Barbuda, Daren Matthew-Ward, believes Vice President Harris' messaging may not have been compelling enough for the working class.
