Concerned Chalmers would ‘sack and stack’ the RBA board with ‘his people’ if given his way

Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor discusses the government “failing” in its “fight against inflation”. Former RBA governors have spoken out against Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ attempt to create a specialised rate-setting board at the central bank. “We’ve been concerned from the start that the Treasurer would sack and stack the board … with his people,” Mr Taylor told Sky News host Erin Molan. “We’re in a situation right now where the government and the Treasurer are failing in the fight against inflation.”
