Conservation funds 'frozen' by the UK government concerns environmentalists
The Falkland Islands are home to over one million penguins and are the most important habitat in the world for many of the species. As tourism fast becomes the biggest part of the islands’ economy, ensuring protection of the animals is crucial. However conservation funding, which comes directly from the UK government is currently frozen, concerning environmentalists.
