‘Cooked the books’: Albanese government’s energy plan to cost ‘half a trillion more’

Sky News host Jame Morrow has accused the Albanese government of “cooking the books” on its renewable-only energy plan costings. A new report has revealed the cost of building a renewable-only power grid is more than $500 billion higher than what the Albanese government has claimed. “Modelling by Frontier Economics has found that basically, Labor has cooked the books,” Mr Morrow said. “The whole cost of going to this full net zero is going to be, for the whole grid … is going to be $500 billion, half a trillion … more.”
