Cosmic Birthing Nest Found for Intermediate-Mass Black Holes | WION Podcast

Scientists have discovered that intermediate-mass black holes, which are heavier than solar-mass black holes but lighter than supermassive ones, may have formed in dense star clusters called globular clusters. These clusters contain millions of tightly packed stars, providing a "birthing nest" for such black holes. Researchers performed the first star-by-star simulation to study their formation, revealing that massive stars in dense molecular clouds might collapse to create these black holes. One such black hole, GCIRS 13E, is 1,300 times the mass of the sun and located 26,000 light-years away near the Milky Way's center. #cosmic #blackhole #wionpodcast About Channel: WION The World is One News examines global issues with in-depth analysis.
