Countdown to Europa Clipper launch begins

The countdown is on as Europa Clipper is scheduled to launch this month on a SpaceX Falcon rocket from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. The spacecraft will travel 2.9 billion kilometres to Jupiter's system where it will investigate the gas giant's moon Europa. The moon is thought to contain a global saltwater ocean beneath its icy shell. It's been more than 12 years in the making but with its massive solar arrays and radar antennas Europa Clipper is the largest spacecraft NASA has ever developed for a planetary mission. With the blast off just around the corner excitement amongst the team is mounting.
