Craig Foster calls for conversations on asylum seeker issue after WA boat arrival

Broadcaster Craig Foster has called for reasonable conversations about how to deal with the complex issue of asylum seekers without hurting the people involved. The Australian Border Force confirmed it is investigating the arrival of a boat with 30 men which landed in Beagle Bay, north of Broome. The 30 men are believed to be from Pakistan and came to a small Indigenous community looking for water. Mr Foster noted he is friends with refugees and worked alongside legendary sports journalist Les Murray who arrived in Australia as a refugee. “The problem is that we go into the next election and once again we are going to go through this whole cycle again about refugees and asylum seekers,” he told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
