Crisis in Sudan - nowhere else on Earth are so many children fleeing war | BBC News
Sudan in north-east Africa was thrown into crisis in 2023 when its army and a powerful paramilitary group began a brutal struggle for power. The war has claimed more than 15,000 lives. About nine million people have been forced to flee their homes in what the United Nations has called one of the world's "largest displacement crises". Among them are nearly five million Sudanese children who have lost almost everything. Nowhere else on Earth are so many children on the run, so many people living with such acute hunger. There is famine in part of the country while many people across Sudan are on the brink of starvation. Sophie Raworth presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Lyse Doucet.
