Cyclone Fengal: 7-member family dead after landslide buries Indian village

Seven members of a single family have died after a cyclone-triggered landslide swept a southern Indian village in the Tamil Nadu state, according to authorities. The landslide occurred on Sunday as Cyclone Fengal crossed the Bay of Bengal with torrential downpour and heavy wind speeds that pummelled Tiruvannamalai — damaging several homes in its path. Among the dead family members were several children, local media reports. Cyclone Fengal has also killed at least 16 people in the neighbouring Sri Lanka.
