Dairy farmers looking to boost production
Dairy farmers in Barbados are hoping more cows can be imported this year. President of the Barbados Dairy and Beef Association Annette Beckett says Government is expected to help, as it can be a costly undertaking. According to her it could cost between six to seven thousand barbados dollars to import one cow. However, with the sector recording a fall-off in milk production last year, she explains why new cows are needed. Ms. Beckett also explains why they are looking to import cows instead of rearing them locally.
