Three days into the labour dispute between workers and the two major rail companies, Canada’s federal labour board has ordered thousands of employees back to work. The decision came down late on Saturday, after contract disputes shut down the country's two major railways, leading to freight and shipping delays across the country. The Teamsters union, which represents workers for both the Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railways, said in a statement that it will comply with the boards' decision — but it will appeal the ruling. “This decision by the CIRB sets a dangerous precedent,” said Paul Boucher, president of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference. “The rights of Canadian workers have been significantly diminished today.” Global’s Craig Momney has the details.
