Archaeologists in Denmark have made a remarkable discovery during the excavation of a Viking-era burial site. Fifty unusually well-preserved skeletons, along with rare artifacts such as knives, glass pearls, and brooches dating back to between the years 850 and 970, have been unearthed. Excavation leader, Michael Borre Lundoe said, “The skeletons are so amazing. They are so well preserved, there are five fingers, five toes, and that just opens up a whole new set of possibilities for discoveries, maybe even things we didn't know we wanted to know.” The artifacts found at the site, including mineralized woven textile fragments and period-specific ornaments, provide valuable evidence of the clothing and accessories worn during the Viking Age.
