More than one million people are at risk of identity fraud after a major data breach threatens to reveal personal information. The breach is affecting those who visited multiple popular pubs, clubs and restaurants across New South Wales. As a result of these clubs requiring patrons to sign in with their personal information, details including addresses, signatures, birth dates, phone numbers and drivers license photos may have been leaked. The cyberattack targeted Australian based tech company ‘Outabox’, a third-party IT provider, commonly used by hospitality venues. The company released a statement saying it is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it.
