Dead humpback whale washed up on Nova Scotia shore: "I’ve never seen anything like it"

Recovery efforts are underway in Nova Scotia, where a humpback whale has died after becoming stranded on a sandbar in Shubenacadie River. A Minke whale was also spotted in that river less than a month earlier, but it managed to survive after finding its way out at high tide.
