Deaf community welcomes study on an official sign language in Singapore, but challenges remain
A government study on whether to turn a local sign language into a national one is raising questions about how it would be taught in school. Some educators in the deaf community say making the Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) official can standardise communication and foster more inclusivity.
