The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has called on the government to fund research in tertiary institutions of learning going forward. Most of the research in the country has been donor-funded, but with the recent budget cuts from USAID and other funding organizations, several programs are either being halted or scrapped. On the other hand, doctoral students have called on the government to revisit the curriculum and teaching approach to prepare learners for a changing world.
