‘Desperate’: Biden joins TikTok despite ‘security implications’ and govt ban

Sky News host Rita Panahi has criticised Joe Biden for being “desperate” after he joined TikTok for his 2024 campaign, despite the “security implications”. The US president, in 2022, signed legislation prohibiting the use of the app, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, on government devices. “President Biden has just joined TikTok,” Ms Panahi said. “It’s all fun and games until you remember that TikTok is pretty much a form of Chinese spyware. “In Australia, we have a nationwide ban of TikTok on government devices. “I would’ve thought that was pretty obviously why that is. “How desperate is he that he would do that given all the security implications?”
