Director Jon M. Chu Finds the "American Dream" in the Land of Oz

Director Jon M. Chu talks about why he decided to take on the newest adaptation of the classic Wizard of Oz story. As a child of immigrants, he sees the American Dream in the story. The incredible cast lend their voices to help tell this story about journey toward potential and imagination. It's an examination of good and evil, friendship, and overcoming challenges. Chu has a wide catalog of films, but sees this project as fulfilling his dream. The "Wicked" story is an adaptation and prequal to the classic Wizard of Oz story. The author of the original Wizard of Oz books, L. Frank Baum, is quoted saying the story is "divinely inspired."
