‘Dirty players’: Donald Trump reacts to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ indictment

Former US President Donald Trump has reacted to the indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The former president spoke to reporters at Trump Tower in New York on Thursday after he was asked about the indictment. Mayor Adams was indicted on Wednesday on federal criminal charges following an investigation into campaign corruption. Trump was asked about the war in Ukraine, Iran and eventually Adams’ charges and if he thought the mayor would receive a fair trial. The former president admitted he was unsure and did not know the mayor well but acknowledged Adam’s fair treatment towards him in past statements. “I will say this. I watched about a year ago when [Adams] talked about how the illegal migrants are hurting our city, and the federal government should pay us and we shouldn’t have to take them. I said, ‘You know what? He’ll be indicted within a year.’ And I was exactly right because that’s what we have,” he said. “We have people that use the Justice Department and the FBI at levels that have never been seen before.”
