‘Dividing the country’: Western Sydney councillor calls for the removal of Indigenous flag

Cumberland City Councillor Steve Christou is calling for the Indigenous flag to be removed from all council properties as it is “dividing the country”. “I’m proposing that not only do we stop Welcome to Country and Indigenous acknowledgements, we also take down the Indigenous flag,” Mr Christou told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio. “Because it’s dividing the country.”
