Do sanctions on Russia work? Yes, but they take time, says this professor
Despite tens of thousands of sanctions imposed on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, Moscow’s economy looks to be resilient, rebounding 3.6 per cent last year. However, economists say the growth was boosted by staggeringly high military spending, which puts the economy at risk of overheating.
