Doctor supports Government's initiative to manage invasive species
Director of the Center for Bio Security Studies at the University of the West Indies Dr. Kirk Douglas supports the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as well as, the Ministry of Environment and National Beautification for their Whatsapp initiative for strange sightings. Speaking to CBC Dr. Douglas said the initiative allows for the Ministry to have some help in being able to combat some of these sightings like the red millipedes and the scorpion sighting some years ago. He said assistance from the public allows the experts to know where to go, to help solve the issues. Dr. Douglas also emphasised that early detection is best, to combat some of these challenges and he encouraged the public to use the number allocated.
