Shortly after Uganda Airlines launched the direct Entebbe-Lusaka route, a trade and business forum was organized at the Radisson Hotel. The forum was attended by representatives from both Uganda and Zambia, with the aim of devising ways to ensure strong business relations between the two countries. The discussions included a panel discussion on the topic "Doing Business in Uganda and Zambia: The Expert Guide." The panelists were: Mr. Humphrey Chisala, CEO of the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eng. Badru Ntege, Board Member of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda Mr. Chimuka Nketani, Director of Investment Promotion at the Zambia Development Agency Mrs. Irene Birungi Mugisha, Presidential CEO Forum Uganda Ms. Kyokuhabwa Rossetti, Senior Immigration Officer at the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration (DCIC) Moderator Mr. Hannington Musimenta, National Planning Authority The forum provided an opportunity for businesses from both countries to learn more about the opportunities available in each other's markets. Key takeaways from the forum: There is a great potential for trade and investment between Uganda and Zambia. Both countries offer a number of incentives for businesses. The key to success in doing business in either country is to understand the local market and build strong relationships with local partners.
