Donald Trump to be sentenced over hush money case days before taking office

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is expected to appeal a decision upholding his criminal conviction for falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments. Donald Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, including hush money payments made to former porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election campaign. A New York judge ordered Mr Trump to be sentenced on January 10 but indicated the incoming president would not receive any prison time.
