‘Done our country proud’: PM welcomes home Australian Olympic athletes at special ceremony

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has given a ‘welcome home’ address at a special ceremony in Sydney for Australian Olympic athletes. This comes as Australia’s best athletes have been given a hero’s welcome home after making the country proud during their history-making performance at the Olympics. “Not everyone had a medal around their neck, but every single one of them was worth their weight in gold. Every single one of them has done our country proud,” Mr Albanese said. “We want you to know that what you have done is inspire us, is give us joy, give us excitement, and lifted up our whole nation due to your performance.”
