Dongguo, Alisel: Sual mayor confronted with 'love team' names of alleged businesses

Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo "Dong" Calugay on Tuesday (September 24) once again denied having romantic or business ties with dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo, after being confronted with documents bearing "love team" names of their alleged joint ventures. "Alam na ng buong Pilipinas na meron kayong relasyon, based on the facts that we have presented to you," Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada told Calugay, citing as example registered businesses with the names Alisel, Dongguo, and D and A, among others. "Mapagkakaila mo pa ba 'yun? Parang love team 'yun, e... Parang DongYan, KathNiel," the senator added, referring to the showbiz tandems of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, and Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Calugay, however, insisted: "Wala po kaming negosyo, ni isa." Guo answered similarly, denying both business and romantic involvement with the Sual mayor. Estrada, who previously also presented supposed evidence of Calugay and Guo's romantic relationship, clarified that by delving into the personal matter, the Senate committee can give a clear picture of their collusion in crimes they are being accused of. "Wala kaming pakialam kung mag-nobyo, mag-nobya kayao. We don't care a bit. We want to establish your partnership if indeed these corporations are used for money-laundering activities," he said.
