The provincial Conservative leader’s comments come just one day after the introduction of strict new rules for supervised drug consumption sites, including banning them within 200 metres of schools and child-care centres — a move that will force several existing sites to shut down permanently. Though divisive, Ford’s solution is to “get rid of safe supply” to help people with drug addictions “get back on their feet.” “We need to put money into treatment, detox beds.
