Doug Ford demands Trudeau acts on Trump tariffs before exit: “Prorogation doesn’t mean vacation”

Ontario Premier Doug Ford took to the podium at Queen’s Park in Toronto on Monday, addressing the news that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be stepping down as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada once a successor was named. The revelation comes at a tense time for Canada, as the country faces threats from U.S. president-elect Donald Trump that he will impose 25 per cent tariffs on all good coming in when he takes office in two weeks. Ford was quick to demand Trudeau meet with the nation’s premiers “face-to-face” to come up with a solution to stop it. “Prorogation doesn’t mean vacation,” Ford said. “It means continuing moving forward as the prime minister, as long as he holds that title,” he added.
