Dr Manmohan Singh Funeral LIVE Updates: PM Modi visits Nigambodh Ghat | Manmohan Singh Death News Former Prime Minister and veteran Congress leader Manmohan Singh, the architect of several groundbreaking reforms that liberalised the economy, died in Delhi on Thursday after a prolonged illness. The 92-year-old renowned economist was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, on Thursday evening after a "sudden loss of consciousness", the hospital said in a statement. AIIMS said that Manmohan Singh was "being treated for age-related medical conditions and had sudden loss of consciousness at home on December 26. He was brought to the Medical Emergency at AIIMS, New Delhi at 8.06 pm.
