Draft begins for Prime Minister's Cup

The draft process for the inaugural Prime Minister's Cup got going at the Barbados Football Association headquarters in Wildey. Maxwell Football Club was given first dibs as various teams made their picks for the semi-pro competition, which carries a cash prize of $100,000 Bds for the winners. The action kicks off on August 25th with 24 teams – 10 from the Barbados Football Association Premier League, the top six from Division 1, and the top four from Divisions 2 and 3, based on 2023 standings. Tournament Coordinator, Craig Stuart explained the process of selecting players. Project Manager Shane Archer reaffirmed the aim of the tournament and its impact on society. The full list of players selected during the draft process will be finalised this weekend.
