‘Dripping in blood’: MSF medic describes horrific aftermath of Israeli attack
Dr Javid Abdelmoneim, the Gaza medical team leader of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), recounted to Al Jazeera the casualties he and his team received at their clinic in Khan Younis after an attack on Saturday: “We were dripping in blood at the end of it. The first case I saw was a three-year-old girl with her thigh peeled off her bone. The second case was a woman covered in dust, breathing but with part of her abdomen and bowel exposed. Then a rush of fully-dressed first aid responders, all injured, arrived.” He described his nurse managing the airway of a boy around 13 or 14 years old, and the difficulty in deciding who to prioritise. With no beds available, they worked on the floor, quickly determining which patients needed immediate surgery and which were beyond help.
