Drones crash into crowd at Florida Christmas show
A Christmas light show in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, Dec. 21, ended in tragedy when several drones collided mid-air and crashed at high speed into the audience. The incident occurred during the first performance of the show, leaving multiple people injured. The video capture by X user @MosquitoCoFL shows drones spiraling out of control and falling into Eloa Lake and onto areas where spectators were sitting on picnic blankets and lawn chairs. “Are they supposed to be falling?” a child is heard asking in the recording. Local authorities and the FAA have launched investigations, while the event organizers, Sky Elements Drones, are facing scrutiny over the safety of the show. The city of Austin has already canceled a similar drone performance planned for its New Year’s Eve celebration.
