Sky News host Peta Credlin says the Dunkley by-election having no One Nation or United Australia Party candidate is “hopeful” for the Liberal Party. The by-election, on Saturday, was held following the passing of Labor MP Peta Murphy. Counting is now underway in the seat of Dunkley. “I think what’s hopeful for the Libs in this race is there is no One Nation and no Palmer candidate. “They were eight per cent of the vote in 2022. “Will that eight per cent come back and sit inside the Liberal Party? Well you’d want to hope it does otherwise you’re in trouble.”
