Early screening is helping doctors at Changi General Hospital (CGH) pick up cases of lymphoedema more quickly. This is leading to better treatment outcomes. The condition causes painful swelling of the limbs and is more likely in people undergoing cancer treatment or those with severe injuries. So far, the hospital has found the condition in nearly three-quarters of more than 60 patients it has screened. Clinical Assistant Professor Jeremy Sun talks about the lymphoedema problem in Singapore. He also elaborates on CGH's early screening method.
