Christmas is the time to be merry! That’s the thinking of Dietitian, Dianne Charles. She says it’s time for family, food and fun and we want to eat all the goodies available. However, she says for food health, we have to learn to eat sensibly and not run away with feelings. Red flags for poor food choices, Ms. Charles says, relates to the amount of salt in your cuisine. She says the composition of the ideal Christmas fare should have less animal protein. Ms. Charles is even challenging people to make black cake with carrots and other vegetables for a healthier snack, suggesting this change would not be noticed.
